Orlando, Fla., June 18, 2019 -- McRae Art Studios (mcraeartstudios.com) will bring back its popular “8x10 Inches of Art” Sale on Aug. 17 with some new features.
As in the previous two years, the event will offer more than 100 original art works by McRae artists for sale at $100 each. The lively event at Central Florida’s oldest and largest artist collective gives the community a chance to take home affordable 8x10-inch works of original art from prominent local artists.
This year, however, visitors will have a chance to bid on art works in increments of $10, but capped at $200 to ensure that art remains affordable. Additionally, the name of the artist who created each art work will not be revealed until later to allow visitors to review all works on display first.
Art works from former McRae artists also will be included in the sale.
Schedule:
6-7 p.m. – Doors open for previewing of art works
7-8 p.m. – Bidding and sales
9 p.m. – Sale ends
Art works include paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures, ceramics, and jewelry. Proceeds are split between the artist and the studio to allow McRae to continually improve the studio complex and open the facility to the public for special events.
McRae Art Studios is located at 1000 Arlington Street in Orlando.
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available.
MCRAE ART STUDIOS, a collective of 22 independent artists founded in 1987, was established to allow member artists to work and mingle and to attract community attention to the area’s outstanding talent. McRae maintains the highest level of artistic accomplishment by bringing artists into the collective by a jury process. It has been home to many nationally recognized artists.
